First With Motto Issue
1866 $1 Motto MS64 PCGS. OC-1, R.2. A Top 30 Variety. All
1866 Motto Seated dollar circulation strikes showcase repunched
dates and die doubling on the reverse mottos. Save for a bit of
softness at the upper obverse and lower reverse, the design is
fully rendered on this near-Gem. Both sides are flashy and
semireflective with ice-blue, golden-orange, and violet patina.
Perhaps 1,000 representatives survive in all but rarely this
well-preserved. Population: 25 in 64 (2 in 64+), 8 finer
