Description

1869 $1 AU58 NGC. Despite a generous mintage of 423,700 pieces, the 1869 silver dollar was melted in quantity, and only a fraction of the original production survives today. This luminous near-Mint piece has silver-gray centers with areas of orange toning at the rims. Well struck with a number of abrasions in the fields, though actual friction is minimal. Census: 13 in 58, 31 finer (7/07).(Registry values: N991)
