1870-CC $1 --Improperly Cleaned--NGC. AU Details. Variety 3-A, Close CC. An important, little-worn example of the first silver dollar issue struck at the Carson City Mint. The surfaces have toned gold-gray after an improper cleaning, and patches of deeper color are noted on the figure of Liberty and the reverse rims.(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24ZE, PCGS# 6964, GSID# 7228)
