Description

    Rarely Seen 1871-CC Dollar, XF45

1871-CC $1 XF45 NGC. This is a problem-free example with no abrasions that are out of context with the XF45 level of preservation. A warm blanket of steel-gray patina blankets both sides, and the features are well defined with only slight wear evident over the high points. The 1871-CC boasts the lowest mintage (1,376 pieces) among CC-mint Seated dollars. Only 85-125 pieces are believed extant in all grades, and these coins are rarer than survivors from the 1870-CC and 1872-CC deliveries. NGC and PCGS have seen only five coins in Mint State, the finest two grade MS64. A significant silver dollar rarity from both absolute and condition standpoints.
