1872 $1 OC-3, R.1, MS64+ PCGS. Osburn-Cushing Die State a/a. A Top 30 Variety. The bottoms of misplaced date digits emerge from Liberty's rock. The reverse is die doubled, chiefly apparent on the feathers on the upper left wing. A lustrous near-Gem with uncommon preservation across light golden-brown surfaces. A toned dentil at 1 o'clock on the obverse provides an identifier. PCGS Population: 39 in 64 (8 in 64+), 6 finer (12/25).
