AU Details 1872-CC Seated Dollar

1872-CC $1 --Improperly Cleaned--NGC. AU Details. The 1872-CC Seated dollar came in with a mintage of only 3,150 coins, but even so a few Mint State pieces are known. The mintage was still higher than for the 1871-CC or 1872-CC, however. This piece is faintly hairlined from an old cleaning, and the mint luster is somewhat diffuse, more so on the obverse than the reverse. The surfaces have retoned in a deep blend of gray, blue, and pinkish-gold. Quite a few unidentified small, raised bumps appear on the obverse around Liberty's pole arm--possibly air bubbles in the planchet.(Registry values: N4719)
