Conditionally Rare 1873 Seated Dollar MS62 Prooflike
1873 $1 MS62 Prooflike NGC. A reflective example of this conditionally rare final year issue; production was interrupted by authorization of the Trade dollar. The strike is good, if not quite full on Liberty's hair and the nearby stars. A few wispy slide marks in the fields and a faint fingerprint fragment near 8 o'clock on the obverse are not troubling for the grade. NGC has certified 127 examples of the business strike 1873 (as of 8/07), but only this piece has received a Prooflike designation.
