Description
XF Details 1873-CC Seated Dollar
1873-CC $1 --Scratched--NCS. XF Details. The last of only four Seated dollar issues struck at Carson City, the 1873-CC was produced for only two or possibly three months before the Coinage Act (also known as the "Crime of '73") deleted the silver dollar from the roster of minted denominations. Examples in any condition are prized. While this well-defined example shows numerous scattered abrasions, as well as reed marks in the right obverse field and a scratch on the eagle's neck and shield, the overall eye appeal holds strong. Light gray surfaces show glimpses of luster in the protected areas.(Registry values: N4719)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24ZN, PCGS# 6972, GSID# 7233)
