Amazing 1873-CC Seated Dollar, XF40

1873-CC $1 XF40 PCGS. As the Mint began the transition from Seated dollars to Trade dollars, the former series was produced in small quantities, just sufficient to meet the demand of commerce at the time. Just 2,300 of these coins were originally struck, and few have survived to this day. Nearly every known survivor is damaged in some way, from lightly cleaned to heavily marked. The present piece is a truly important exception to the rule.
This amazing 1873-CC Seated silver dollar is absolutely original with exceptional silver-gray surfaces and few of the imperfections that are so often associated with the issue. Population: 8 in 40, 26 finer (2/10).(Registry values: N4719)
