1847 Seated Dollar, MS64
Bold Frosted Luster

1847 $1 MS64 PCGS. OC-3, R.3. Osburn-Cushing Die State c/b. The 1847 Seated dollar is readily available in most grades from the 140,750-piece mintage, although it becomes scarce at the Choice Uncirculated grade and rare any finer. This mostly brilliant example is struck from a late die state with a faint die crack at the base of the date. Frosty surfaces are highly lustrous and sharply struck for the issue, with well-defined star centers and bold upper hair strands. A few light marks are noted on the reverse ONE DOLLAR and a bit of mint grease exists between E and S of STATES. PCGS Population: 12 in 64 (2 in 64+), 5 finer (1/26).(Registry values: N4719)
