1856 $1 AU58 PCGS. OC-1, R.2. Osburn-Cushing Die State b/d with spindly cracks across the reverse periphery. The 1856 has a small mintage of 63,500 pieces, delivered by a single die pair. This Borderline Uncirculated example displays consistent steel-gray toning. The strike is good, though shy of complete on the eagle's left (facing) leg. No marks are remotely consequential. A hint of struck-in grease is west of star 12. Population: 14 in 58, 19 finer (11/21).(Registry values: N1793)
