    Scarce PR64+ 1859 Seated Dollar

    1859 $1 PR64+ NGC. CAC. The straw-gold fields and devices are framed by ruby-red and navy-blue iridescence. This fully struck near-Gem is well preserved despite a few delicate hairlines on the right obverse field. 1859 is the first year that proof mintages of silver dollars were recorded at the Philadelphia Mint. A mere 800 specimens were struck.(Registry values: N2998)
