    Description

Minimally Worn 1872-CC Seated Dollar Rarity

1872-CC $1 AU58 NGC. The Philadelphia Mint shipped two obverse dies to the Carson City Mint in 1872 for Silver Dollar production. One of these dies was combined with reverse C (Wide CC) of the 1870 delivery to produce 3,150 1872-CC Seated Dollars. Despite its status as the second most common CC-mint issue in this series, the '72-CC is appreciably rarer than the '70-CC in all grades. This is a bright, untoned representative whose surfaces are uncommonly abrasion-free for a near-Mint Silver Dollar from the frontier era. Both sides are well detailed with only the lightest rub across the highpoints. (NGC ID# 24ZK, PCGS# 6969)

    Weight: 26.73 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
