    1837 Seated Liberty Half Dime, MS66 ★
    No Stars, Large Date, V-1

1837 H10C No Stars, Large Date (Curl Top 1) MS66 ★ NGC. V-1. This variety is distinguished by clear double punching of the date that shows near the denticles. Two separate half moon-like punchings appear below the 8, one of them low enough to cross one of the denticles. The lunule-like punching at the lower tip of the 7 is especially bold on this early die state. Typical for the issue, this coin displays needle-sharp striking definition throughout. Also, the surfaces are uncommonly well-preserved with a colorful sheen and no abrasions of note. The obverse sports cobalt-blue, gold, and a spot of red over the date area, the reverse has a deep crimson center that is bordered with rich turquoise-blue patina. A bright, Premium Gem with the Star designation for the high-grade type collector.
