Gem 1837 Small Date Seated Half Dime
1837 H10C Small Date (Flat Top 1) MS65 PCGS. There is no substantial difference in size between the Small Date and Large Date, but the logotypes have little in common. The Small Date has a flat top 1, a script 8, and a relatively closed 3. The Large Date has a curved top 1, a block 8, and an open 3. Both are similar in scarcity, and in demand as an example of the No Stars subtype. This smooth and satiny cream-gray Gem is well struck and has interesting die crumbling near Liberty's knee.(Registry values: P6)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 232M, PCGS# 4312, GSID# 3759)
