Description

1838 Half Dime, MS66
No Drapery, Large Stars

1838 H10C Large Stars, No Drapery, MS66 PCGS. CAC. The first star is dramatically repunched, characteristic of Valentine-10, but the top of the 1 in the date is recut, as noted for Valentine-12. The present Premium Gem is richly patinated brick-red, blue, and sea-green. The well-struck surfaces are smooth save for unobtrusive field marks near the A in HALF. Population: 33 in 66 (4 in 66+), 12 finer. CAC: 20 in 66, 12 finer (5/23).
