    Description

    1839 Half Dime, MS66
    Conditionally Rare Type Coin

1839 H10C No Drapery MS66 NGC. V-2, Flynn-RPD-002. Repunching is seen on the last two date numerals but most notably on the upper part of the 9. While Al Blythe considered the 1839 a "common date" it is certainly not common in the better grades of Uncirculated. This is a fully struck Premium Gem example with frosted surfaces covered in light champagne patina. An excellent opportunity to acquire this early date as a type coin. Census: 20 in 66 (2 in 66 ), 12 finer (10/18).
Ex: Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 6/2010), lot 505, which realized $1,840.(Registry values: N2998)

    Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 232S, PCGS# 4319)

    Weight: 1.34 grams

    Metal: 90% Silver, 10% Copper
