Description
1840 No Drapery Half Dime, MS63
Short-Lived Design Type
1840 H10C No Drapery MS63 PCGS. The No Drapery 1840 Seated
half dime is far more plentiful than the With Drapery issue, as is
expected considering the No Drapery coin boasts more than three
times the mintage (1.034 million vs 310,085 coins). However, the
short-lived tenure of the No Drapery design heightens demand for
attractive examples of the earlier issue. This coin displays satiny
luster with a hint of russet color. It is well struck and displays
pleasing eye appeal. Housed in an old green label holder.Ex: The Old Orchard Collection of Half Dimes (Heritage, 5/2021), lot 92032.(Registry values: N991)
