Rare Mint State 1840-O With Drapery Half Dime1840-O H10C Drapery MS62 NGC. "Valentine-7." This is the variety first described by William Harmon in the July 1989 issue of the Gobrecht Journal and reprinted in Collective Volume Number Three of that publication. The reverse has die cracks from the border through U of UNITED and from the border through I of AMERICA. As a date, this issue is an important rarity in high grades, and the variety may be unique in Mint State quality. Although not fully struck, this is a pleasing example with sharp design features and excellent surfaces. Both sides have pleasing pewter-gray color with gold and iridescent toning.
