Description

1842 Half Dime, MS66
Seldom Offered This Fine

1842 H10C MS66 PCGS. It has been more than a year since we offered a rare Premium Gem example of the 1842 half dime. The issue scarce in MS65 as well, but higher-grade pieces are what elude most collectors. This satiny representative is lavender-toned with champagne hues on the obverse, while the reverse is cast in rich ocean-blue and violet coloration. A sharp strike completes the eye appeal. Population: 8 in 66 (2 in 66+), 1 finer (11/16).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 2332, PCGS# 4330, Greysheet# 3766)
