1846 Half Dime, Patinated AU53
Seldom Seen in Any Grade
1846 H10C AU53 PCGS. From a mintage of just 27,000 pieces,
the 1846 Seated Liberty half dime is seldom encountered in any
grade. PCGS has certified only 86 examples in all levels of
preservation. Violet, electric-blue, and yellow-gold patination is
slightly deeper on the obverse of this AU53 well-defined specimen.
A faint, horizontal pinscratch from the shield to the left (facing)
leg will help to pedigree the coin. Population: 4 in 53, 5 finer
(1/14).From the collection of Donald E. Bently, sold for the benefit of the Bently Foundation.(Registry values: N2998)
