    Description

    1851 Half Dime, Multicolored MS67
    Popular, Well-Preserved With Stars Issue

1851 H10C MS67 NGC. The 1851 half dime is one of the more frequently encountered With Stars issues, even though only 781,000 pieces were minted. Several dozen Uncirculated pieces are known, and as Al Blythe wrote in 1992, " ... this coin is surprisingly available." That is not the case, however, in Superb Gem condition. Only four other coins have been certified as such at NGC, with four at PCGS, and one coin is finer (7/11). This is a nearly perfect example. The devices are sharply struck for the date, and each side has deep streaks of multicolored toning over a pearl-gray satiny finish.(Registry values: N2998) (NGC ID# 233H, PCGS# 4347)
