Description

1855-O Arrows Half Dime, MS65
Advanced Die State, Ex: Gardner

1855-O H10C Arrows MS65 PCGS. CAC. V-1a. The obverse die is in a near-terminal state, with a crack passing through the head of Liberty and the stars. Another crack connects the arrows and date, and a third runs from the right foot to the rim. The 1855-O survives in high grades in relative abundance for an O-mint half dime issue. A crescent of russet frames the obverse of this piece, with pleasing gold and gray covering the remainder of the surfaces. The center reverse is brilliant, with streaks of silver penetrating the burgundy legend. Population: 9 in 65, 3 finer. CAC: 2 in 65, 4 finer (10/17).
