Description

1859 Half Dime, MS67+
Beautifully Toned, Practically Flawless

1859 H10C MS67+ PCGS. The Mint struck 340,000 half dimes in 1859 from a new obverse hub designed by Anthony Paquet. A number of examples survive in MS66 and even MS67. Few, however, can match the visual quality of this colorfully toned Superb Gem, showing variegated blue, green, golden-orange, and magenta toning from the centers out. The reverse is decidedly lighter in hue, but no less lustrous. Fully struck and practically pristine. Population: 29 in 67 (17 in 67+), 5 finer (8/17).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 233W, PCGS# 4371, Greysheet# 3786)

Weight: 1.24 grams
