1859-O Seated Half Dime, MS64
Elusive This Fine
1859-O H10C MS64 NGC. Ex: Hilt Collection. This New Orleans
issue is somewhat scarcer than its Philadelphia counterpart,
especially in high grade. The current Choice example is
conditionally scarce, and finer pieces are rare. Satiny luster
complements well-struck design elements, while light russet toning
warms each side. Struck from clashed dies, as is often the case
with the half dime denomination. Census: 33 in 64, 21 finer
(2/24).Ex: Central States Signature (Heritage, 4/2015), lot 7515.(Registry values: N1793)
