Description

Exceptionally Well-Preserved
1860 Half Dime, MS68 ★

1860 H10C MS68 ★ NGC. A stunning ice-blue Superb Gem with variegated patches of cobalt and russet coloration throughout. Areas of darker patination cling to the rims on both sides and the luster is phenomenal, as one would expect for such a lofty coin. All attributes combined, the current offering seems unimprovable. As of (4/09) NGC has certified only two 1860 half dimes at the MS68 level with the coveted designation and none finer--understandably so. The population for the same technical grade at PCGS is two pieces. A coin for the connoisseur of Seated half dimes and for those who simply appreciate uncommonly attractive type coins.
