Description
Affordable 1860 Transitional Half Dime With Unc Details
1860 H10C Transitional--Cleaned--ANACS. Unc Details, Net AU50. Judd-267. The first of two Transitional half dimes, this design presents Anthony C. Paquet's 1859 Stars obverse with the new date of 1860, combined with the new 1860 reverse with the denomination in the center surrounded by a wreath, the same reverse design that was used until discontinuation of the denomination in 1873. Sharply defined throughout, the surfaces are dull from cleaning and show a few stray contact marks. Untoned over most of each side with a faint accent of golden-brown around the margins. From The Dr. Douglas Roane Collection.
