Description

1862 Half Dime, MS67
Superb Type Representative

1862 H10C MS67 PCGS. CAC. V-5. Following the suspension of specie payments by the banks, many half dimes of this issue wound up in private hoards of silver coins and never saw circulation, making the date fairly plentiful in Mint State condition and a popular choice for type representation. This Superb Gem displays pale violet, teal, and green-gold hues over each side, with satiny underlying mint luster. The strike is sharp and the surface preservation is outstanding. Population: 40 in 67 (3 in 67+), 3 finer (4/14).(Registry values: N2998)

Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 234B, PCGS# 4381, Greysheet# 3790)
