Description

1862 Seated Half Dime, MS68
Condition Census Example

1862 H10C MS68 PCGS. CAC. Ex: Simpson. The 1862 Seated half dime is among the more plentiful issues in high grade, although at MS68 even this date becomes conditionally rare, and none are known numerically finer. The present piece is one of just three MS68 coins with CAC endorsement. Glistening, frosty surfaces adorn each side, complementing a bold strike that spans even the typically troublesome upper left reverse wreath. A few ticks in the left obverse field near the rock base and the ED ST serve as pedigree markers, while a tingle of light champagne color accents the margins. PCGS Population: 8 in 68 (1 in 68+), 0 finer (12/25).(Registry values: N1)
