Description

1865 Half Dime, MS65
Low-Mintage Civil War Date
Prooflike Surfaces

1865 H10C MS65 PCGS. The same dies were used to strike 13,000 circulation strikes and 500 proofs. This coin is a gleaming early circulation strike that is fully prooflike on both sides and sharply defined. Pleasing translucent gold toning exists on the flashy fields and lightly frosted devices. The 8 in the date displays small die flaws at the lower-left and upper-right curves and the Gem Uncirculated fields show only a few minor marks. Housed in an old green label PCGS holder. Population: 7 in 65, 13 finer (3/24).(Registry values: N1793)
