Description

Outstanding MS 67 1866 Half Dime--One of the Finest Known

1866 MS 67 PCGS. The satiny fields are essentially untoned on this superb specimen. A fully struck gem showing virtually no contact marks of any kind, although some very light die clashing is noted on both sides. Just 10,000 business strikes were issued of the 1866 half dime and today these are far scarcer than proofs of the same date. Population: 2 in 67, none higher (3/96).
