1871 Half Dime, Incredible MS68
Among the Finest Known
1871 H10C MS68 NGC. The devices of this amazing Superb Gem
display brilliant and frosty silver luster, surrounded by equally
brilliant and satiny fields, nearly prooflike in their appearance.
A faint hint of pale ivory-gold toning visits the right-side
borders. The obverse die appears lapped, at one time heavily
rusted, with a central section of the design partially polished
away. Census: 2 in 68 (1 in 68 ★ ), 0 finer (11/16).Ex: The Southwest Collection at Long Beach Signature (Heritage, 2/2008), lot 59.(Registry values: N1)
