Large Date, Exquisite First-Year Type

1837 H10C No Stars, Large Date (Curl Top 1) MS66+ PCGS Secure. CAC. Two major varieties exist for the first-year Seated half dime, one with a Large Date, Curl Top 1, and a Script 8, and the other with a Small Date, Flat Top 1, and a Block 8. This is the slightly more often-seen variant. Olive-gold, peach-orange, red-violet, and blue patina delicately paints each side of this exquisite Premium Gem. Liberty and the reverse wreath are fully defined, while marks are practically unseen. Population: 34 in 66 (3 in 66+), 6 finer. CAC: 16 in 66, 7 finer (9/18).(Registry values: N2998)
