Description

PCGS 1860 Transitional MS 66. Superb luster and outstanding surfaces overall. There is a touch of peripheral weakness on the stars and at the bottom of the wreath. The basically untoned surfaces are pristine with no apparent surface blemishes on either side. The diagnostic die scratch that is seen on all known specimens is prominent extending from the base of the rock up to the denticles. Outstanding quality in this rare 19th century mule that was produced intentionally by Mint Director Snowden. Population: 5 in 66, 4 finer.
