1840-O 50C MS64 PCGS. Breen-4752, WB-102. Very Small Mintmark. Breen (1988) writes that this variety is rare and usually seen in low grades. This is the finest 1840-O certified by PCGS (7/10) and may be the finest known example of the Very Small Mintmark variety. Impressive luster radiates beneath variegated violet and hazel toning. The strike is razor-sharp, save for a touch of weakness on Liberty's head. There are no marks visible to the unaided eye. A connoisseur will appreciate the importance of this outstanding specimen.(Registry values: N2998)
