Description
Conditionally Rare 1841 Half Dollar, MS64 NGC
1841 50C MS64 NGC. An R.7 issue in Mint State, this piece is rare as a near-Gem, and virtually unobtainable finer. Each side has bright, semi-prooflike fields and shows the die striations that made it so. Light tan-gray patina is seen over each side and the striking details are well defined throughout. A few tiny marks are scattered about, but the only one that can be reliably used for pedigree purposes is an abrasion just above the shield on Liberty's leg. Population: 7 in 64, 2 finer (10/04).(#6236) (Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24GR, PCGS# 6236, GSID# 6255)
