Description

1841 MS 65 NGC. An R.7 issue in Mint State, this piece is currently unique in gem condition. Each side has bright, semi-prooflike fields and shows the die striations that made it so. Lovely golden-rose patina is lightly draped over each side and the striking details are well defined throughout. A few tiny marks are scattered about, but the only one that can be reliably used for pedigree purposes is a small planchet flaw below the second T in STATES.
