Description

1841-O 50C AU53 ANACS. Unlisted in WB. Unlisted in MPD. Large Mintmark. There is a misplaced digit in the denticles between the 4 and 1, either the top of a 1 or a horizontal 4. This variety was discovered by noted Seated Half expert, Dick Osburn, after the publication of Kevin Flynn's MPD reference, and it is currently unlisted in any reference. Well struck with better surviving luster and cleaner surfaces than one might expect for the grade. Each side is toned in lovely shades of golden-rose with subtle blue accents around the margins.
From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
