Patinated Select 1842 Seated Half
Small Date, Large Letters
1842 50C Small Date, Large Letters MS63 NGC. Apple-green and
orange alternate across richly detailed and slightly subdued
representative. The fields have a few inconspicuous abrasions, and
the obverse rim has a nick at 5 o'clock. An interesting rim die
break is noted at 11 o'clock on the reverse. Most 1842 halves are
the Medium Date variety. The Small Date, Large Letters is scarce,
and the Small Date, Small Letters is extremely rare. Census: 4 in
63, 8 finer (4/09).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24GT, PCGS# 6240, GSID# 6258)
