Description
1842 50C Small Date, Reverse of 1842 AU55 ANACS. WB-102. Cud Over TAT. While cuds are usually rare, on this particular variety it is many times more difficult to locate a piece without the rim cud. The 102 is one of the scarcer varieties of this issue and it is especially difficult in mint condition. The brilliant centers are surrounded by rich golden-russet toning at the margins. Sharply defined, there are no obvious surface impairments on either side. This issue is very seldom seen in this grade.
