Rare Mint State 1842 Medium Date Half
1842 50C Medium Date MS63 PCGS. WB-106.The 8 in the date is recut and there is an errant 8 to the right of the shield point. Very rare in Mint State and rated an R.7 by Wiley-Bugert. Fully struck in all areas, the lustrous centers are brilliant and framed by rich russet-brown and cobalt-blue toning around the obverse rim, the reverse periphery shows just the slightest bit of color around the periphery. Population: 5 in 64, 1 finer (7/01).From the Richard Genaitis Collection.
