Elusive 1844 Half Dollar, MS64
1844 50C MS64 NGC. This early Seated half was not saved in significant numbers and the present near-Gem counts itself among the finest survivors available to today's collectors. Both sides are boldly struck with a competing overlay of dove-gray and golden-rose iridescence. NGC and PCGS combined report only 22 examples in MS 64 with only three finer (8/10).(Registry values: N2998)Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24GZ, PCGS# 6245, GSID# 6260)
