Description
Dramatically Repunched 1844-O Half Dollar
1844-O Doubled Date VF 30. Breen-4775. All digits in the date are dramatically doubled with the first punching far too high in the exergual area. A very scarce issue, rated R.6 by Wiley and Bugert, and virtually unknown above the XF-AU level. This is an original piece that has moderate gray patina from years in circulation. There are no distracting blemishes on either side.Coin Index Numbers: (NGC ID# 24H2, PCGS# 6247, GSID# 6318)
