Description
1846 MS 64 NGC. Sharply struck and heavily die clashed on each side, the bright, semi-reflective surfaces are attractively toned. The center of each side is light golden with ever-deepening reddish-coppery and cobalt-blue patina at the margins. While a common issue in lower, circulated grades, in mint state the 1846 rates a surprising High R.5. Population: 9 in 64, 8 finer (5/97).
