Description
1846 50C Tall Date AU53 ANACS. Unlisted in WB. Large Date. While unlisted, this variety was described several years ago in the Gobrecht Journal. Pronounced repunching is seen on the left side of the 8 in the date. This is an early die state, and it is very rare as such. Well defined, the surfaces are very clean for the grade. Much original brilliance and luster shows around the devices with the fields a lilac-gray patina.
From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
