Description

1848 50C MS64 NGC. WB-103. Recut 18. Originally and deeply toned, the strike is bold and sharp, a sometimes elusive characteristic on early Seated halves. A few minor surface marks are noted, and a single moderate abrasion resides in the upper right obverse field. Population: 10 in 64, 3 finer (12/04). PLEASE NOTE: In the printed catalog, this coin was attributed as a WB-104. After close examination by Dick Osburn, he determined it is actually a WB-103.
