Unlisted Doubled Date 1849 Half
1849 50C --Cleaned--ANACS. AU Details, Net XF40. Unlisted in Wiley-Bugert. Doubled Date. Evidence can be seen of repunching on all four digits in the date. It seems this must be a fairly scarce variety, not only because it is unlisted in the WB reference, but it also shows two heavy die cracks: one that traverses diagonally through the date, and the other runs through stars 1 through 8. Cleaned, and bright as a result, but the collector may not be able to be choosy when searching for this variety.From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
