Description

1850 50C AU53 ANACS. The 1850, 1851, and 1852 are relatively low mintage issues affected by the California Gold Rush. An influx of the yellow metal drove the value of silver coins above their face value, and they were quantities were melted by speculators. They missed the present lightly circulated example, which has the occasional moderate field mark along with attractive peripheral aqua-blue toning.(Registry values: N991)
