Description

Scarce 1850 Seated Half, MS63

1850 50C MS63 PCGS. The 1850 is an important and underrated condition rarity among early Seated halves. It is far more difficult in all Uncirculated grades than its production of 227,000 pieces would suggest with only a few dozen Mint State pieces believed to have survived. This is an attractive, sharply defined coin that has bright, semireflective fields on the obverse. Pale, dusky golden toning is seen over each side with a few tiny abrasions evident on the obverse. Population: 7 in 63, 7 finer (8/09).(Registry values: N2998)
