Description
Rare Recut 0 1850 Half Dollar, MS63
1850 50C MS63 PCGS. WB-102. Recut 0. An R.7 variety in mint condition, the 0 in the date shows traces of the original punch south and east of the final punch for that digit. This is the second of two die marriages for WB-102. The softly frosted surfaces are nicely and originally toned with golden-orange centers that turn cobalt-blue around the margins. Well defined throughout. The 1850 is a scarce, low mintage P-mint issue in AU and Uncirculated grades. From the Tommy Dorathy Collection of Seated Halves.
